I love to see the Haitians in the comments claiming Napoleon went broke because of the Haitian revolution thus resulting in the Lousiana purchase 😂🤣 Napoleon went broke because he made the unwise decision to invade further into Russia. He lost most of his army and wealth making him vulnerable to attacks from other European nations. By the time Haiti won against their French overlords in Haiti, Napoleons army was already extremely weak which is why he sold his land to the US for pennies and let Haiti be. He was forced to abdicate his thrown by Russians and Prussians. All of that was up until King Charles arrived in Haiti in 1825 after they rebuilt their army and demanded the Haitians pay for all of their lost propertyand men or the warships docked on the ports would blow up Port-au-Prince. Haitians agreed to pay and its been downhill since.
