Being first means you play Sweden then Germany. Being second means you play Ivory Coast then Brazil. You could argue the first path is more difficult. Norwegian coach looked at that and is like why even risk anything both path very similar.

Yes, they were resting the team. The whole defence and part of the midfield was very fatigued since they had so few days between games. Winning or losing means facing Sweden or Cote d’Ivoire the next round, both manageable. It not like they needed to win to avoid a top team like Germany.

we aren't a team that is even close to win the tournament, we do what we need to do to try staying in the tournament as long as we can. Few rest days, heat we are not used to, playing extremely good teams. Of course we need to rest out top players for the matches that actually counts. It's a no brainer. We don't have the squad depths like top teams like France, we don't have 4x top lineups to thrown on the pitch at any given time.

Norway played the reserves aka B team not only to rest the starters but also to give the reserves momentum and XP heading into the knockout stages.

You guys don’t get it. This game didn’t matter that much. Even if they won, they would meet Germany after Sweden and its better to rest the players for the knock out. We want to go far…. plus Haaland was being honest as France is a better team than Norway so he was being direct and humble, which I think is a quality more people should have😂😂
