@wanderwithivy: ✨ The Ultimate 3-Day South Dakota Itinerary 🦬🏔️ If South Dakota has been on your bucket list, here’s exactly how I spent 3 unforgettable days exploring some of the state’s most iconic spots (plus one amazing stop in Wyoming 😉). 📌 Save this for your next road trip & send it to your favorite travel buddy! 🤎 Day 1 | Devil’s Tower + Hill City 📍Devil’s Tower (Wyoming) • Hiked the Tower Trail (1.3-mile loop) • Walked all the way around the monument for incredible views from every angle • Got to see my first bison of the trip! 🏡 Checked into @mcgregorandmain Lofts in Hill City, which made the perfect home base for exploring the Black Hills. 🤎 Day 2 | Wind Cave + Custer State Park 📍Wind Cave National Park • Booked the Fairgrounds Tour (reserve early! It sells out!) • Saw the cave’s famous boxwork formations and cave popcorn • One of the most unique cave systems I’ve ever explored 📍Custer State Park • Drove the Wildlife Loop Road • Saw countless bison (my favorite 🦬) • Fed carrots to the famous begging burros • Ended the day in a real bison traffic jam... 10/10 would do it again 😂 🤎 Day 3 | Badlands + Mount Rushmore + Needles Highway 📍Badlands National Park • Drove the entire Badlands Loop Road • Walked the Fossil Exhibit Trail • Stopped at the stunning Yellow Mounds • Saw blooming cactus and even more bison • The landscapes honestly felt like another planet 📍Mount Rushmore • Made a quick stop to see one of America’s most iconic landmarks in person. 📍Needles Highway (my favorite part of the trip 🤍) • One of the most beautiful scenic drives I’ve ever done • Drove through the famous granite tunnels and towering rock spires • Hiked Cathedral Spires Trail for even more incredible views • Ended the drive at beautiful Sylvan Lake 🍷 Finished the trip with a wine tasting back in Hill City at @withthewindwinery , such a relaxing way to end an incredible few days. South Dakota completely exceeded my expectations.
