Evan Eubanks :
They probably already had it stained/sealed so when they put the oil on it had no where to absorb and was slick af.

If you’re rolling around chaining gear down does some of the oil rub off on your cloths?

I suspect the peeps that get it slick use to much. you stopped at a reasonable one coat, I could see a second helping, but I can also see someone putting 4 or 5 gallon on the deck and it not all absorbing in

applying it in the summer sun really helps it soak in. I do mine the same way and it has never been slick.

I’d guess those who have had a slick trailer deck after doing this probably put it on boards that hadn’t weathered properly yet so weren’t ready to accept the oil

In Venezuela, where I'm from, everyone who has one of those trailers does the same thing. They coat the wood with used motor oil to better protect it, and it never becomes slippery.👊👊👊👊

People don't understand it's not just oil. It's also gasoline between the 2 combined. It soaks deep in the pores of the wood, leaving no oily residue up top just to protective layer absorbed into the wood
