@paulturnerbarrister: Sponsor licence revocations are rising sharply and many employers don't realise how exposed they are. If you hold a Skilled Worker sponsor licence, a failed compliance check, poor record-keeping, or a single right-to-work slip can put it at risk. Here's what's driving the crackdown and how to protect your licence before UKVI comes knocking. Worried about your sponsor licence? Hello Sir, I would like to ask about the Home Office and the Home Secretary’s recent discussions regarding a possible new refugee route or visa that is expected to be introduced from next autumn. What is the current situation? How would people be able to apply for it? If someone is already in the UK with refugee status and has a five-year refugee permission, would this new route provide any benefits for them? For example, if they have family members abroad, such as brothers or sisters, would they be eligible to bring them to the UK? Or is this new route intended to benefit a different group of people? Previously, the Home Office and the Home Secretary were saying that they wanted to make the refugee system stricter. They also proposed extending the period before settlement from five years to ten years, and there were even discussions about making some migrants wait up to twenty years before qualifying for settlement. However, now it seems they are talking about introducing a new legal route for refugees to come to the UK. Given the existing pressure on the asylum system, why has their position appeared to change so much? What has led to this apparent shift in policy? I have also heard that the proposal to extend settlement from five years to ten years may be changing again, and that the government might be reconsidering or reversing some of its earlier plans. Is that true? What is the actual situation?
