@_fungaia: Facts 👇 Walla Walla City Council voted to allow industrial logging in our protected drinking water source. So I've been showing up... over and over again, for over a year. For more context, please go check out my deep-dive video on this topic and read up on it at WallaWallaWatershed.com. This particular old-growth forest supplies 90% of the City of Walla Walla's drinking water, which is unfiltered. Over 12,000 acres of heavy industrial logging and 20,000 acres of inappropriately-applied prescribed fire have been authorized in this experimental "forest health restoration project" without an EIS, predicated on the absurd assertion that there will be "no measurable impact" to water quality. Beneath the obvious motivations (money) is a more sinister proposal to use our community's life-support infrastructure as a "test site" for developing a tool designed to be used as a pseudo-scientific justification for logging as a "carbon positive natural climate solution." This is why I am fighting it with every tool at my disposal. And if the thought of industrial logging of old growth getting subsidized as a "natural climate solution" sickens you, then this is your fight, too. May the forest be with you.

I think this is really enjoyable. I'm not sure why they can't handle this and just be a listener.

Where is CTUIR? USFWS? NMFS? EPA? Deforestation ensures that snow melts faster. Without cold water contribution, water temperatures rise faster. Water infiltration slows. Increased sedimentation and warmer temperatures contribute to harmful conditions for aquatic species. The Walla Walla River is home to two ESA Listed species. The river is severely over appropriated and the deep basalt aquifer has declined to unsustainable levels. It’s time to stop letting the government make all of our decisions for us!
