I met him on his tour bus back in the early 2000s in Wisconsin when they opened up for KISS. When me and my best friend were in the Marines, my best friend was in the same platoon with a guy who would later be known as big John, Brett’s bodyguard. Big John took us to the tour bus and my best friend was talking to Brett for a quick minute. Brett was very polite as he leaned over and looked down the middle aisle past big John and my best friend, he looked at me and said, “ and what is your name?”. I would have been totally content without actually speaking to him, but he was so polite, asked me a few questions, and even gave me a beer for the road. Classy guy, and I’m grateful that he gave us five minutes of his time for something that I will never forget…
