Something else that should be mentioned is that in the book "The Struggle for Modern Tibet" which is an autobiography of a man named Tashi Tsering who was in the Dalai Lama's male dance troupe when he was a teenager is that in old Tibet (& let's be honest I'm sure it continues at these exiled monasteries) that a lot of the higher up "monk officials" would have teenage boy concubines called "drombos" (because it was generally frowned upon to have female sexual partners). The practice is described in quite sickening detail in the book.

First off, it’s sort of strange to argue that an officially atheist government somehow has the ultimate spiritual authority to control Buddhist reincarnation. The 'Golden Urn' wasn't some deep religious doctrine, it was literally just an 18th-century imperial policy used by the Qing Dynasty to control a frontier region. You can't use an empire's old political tool to delegitimize a living religion. Also, throwing around Western words like 'blasphemy' shows a total misunderstanding of Buddhism, which doesn't even have a Creator God concept. And framing sacred, symbolic practices (like the kapala, which is a reminder of the impermanence of the ego) as 'medieval' is intellectually disingenuous. Occupying powers always paint minority cultures as 'backward' so they can justify forcing them to assimilate. Furthermore, Taking one person's allegations from the 70s to invalidate the religious freedom of millions of people is not correct. Tibetan culture is a living, breathing diaspora, and indigenous sovereignty isn't dictated by the centuries-old rules of an empire."

That’s not called tantra, that’s like saying “an activity called ritual.” Tantra just refers to ritual texts, usually esoteric in the sense they can only be performed by initiates. Only certain tantras used in Tibetan Buddhism involve ritual transgression, such as sexual activity, drinking alcohol, or eating meat.
