Retired Vet here. Forget glory - there isn't any. Consider yourself a product for sale - They want you so cut the best deal you can. Do your research, set goals. What do you want? A school that has a civilian equivalent, think gas turbine tech, is reasonable. You can get your education while in the service but you have to be ashore or not deployed so choose jobs that have reasonable rotations. Good luck!
