#BreakingNews ## 🚨 BREAKING: Motorcyclist Found Dead, Missing Rider's Skeleton Discovered in Kono Bush
Fear and tension are reported to have swept through Nimiyama Chiefdom, Kono District, on Friday after police from the Motema Division discovered the body of a commercial motorcyclist and the skeletal remains of another rider who had reportedly been missing for several months.
According to the Media and Community Relations Officer Motema Police Division, Thompson Peter Ndapi, the Division's officers responded to a distress call around 2:00 p.m. after reports of a lifeless body and human skeletal remains in a bush between Gbetwema and Dombadu villages.
The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Abdul Turay, popularly known as "Matta," a commercial motorcyclist from Matonkor Village, Tonkolili District. He was found lying beside Gbawama Stream, while the motorcycle he had reportedly been riding was described as a blue, unregistered HLX.
During a search of the area, Thompson said, police also uncovered the skeletal remains of Joseph Koroma, alias "Ajero," a commercial motorcyclist from Yonmanja Village, Nimiyama Chiefdom, who had been reported missing for about five to six months.
Both scenes were processed by investigators. Abdul Turay's body has been taken to the Koidu Government Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination, while forensic investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding Joseph Koroma's death.
The discoveries triggered anger among local youths and commercial motorcyclists, who reportedly threw stones at the residence of Paramount Chief George Bockarie Torto. Police intervened promptly, dispersed the crowd, and restored calm.
Authorities say the security situation is now under control, while investigations into both deaths continue.
