As a former police dispatcher I can tell you ADT had the absolute worst response time of any home security company & I would never use them myself.

ADT stood for American District Telegraph. It began as a private telegraph/call-box network connected to central monitoring offices. A business or subscriber could trigger a device that sent a coded signal identifying the location or type of call, and ADT would dispatch a watchman, messenger, police, fire, or other help as needed.

My Dad worked for ADT back when it was called DEP (Dominion Electric Protection) all the way through to the change in home (ADT) to businesses- ADT became Tycos to Tycos/Johnson Controlls. Wish I had all the old alarms and Ticker Taper he had🥺
