I remember hearing this day we were swimming at an end of year party and my friend yelled they finally did it and i remember calling my cousin crying saying it finally happened, Our teacher and her partner overheard us and we saw them hold each other and cry they got married two days later ❤️

I remember this day so well. I was 15. It was my sisters birthday so we were watching the Supreme Court decision and it was announced. We went to the local courthouse to watch gay people get married 😭 and now she’s celebrating her birthday with her wife 🥹

I remember right where I was when I found out same sex marriage was legalized in Indiana. I didn’t know I was queer at the time but I broke down and cried happy tears in the hallway of the dorm I was in. The women around me all stood and wept together, it was so beautiful

I just turned 13 and I remember being at my grandparents and how upset everyone was around but I remember having so much joy watching it on the TV. that secret joy that no one else knew about.

i had the miraculous blessing of coming out by attending a pride parade that took place the day that the supreme court gave the ruling. they had not known if they were going to be celebrating or mourning until the news broke out 3 hours before the parade started. i had cut my hair that morning, snuck out in the suit that my friend had stolen from her brother's closet and when i arrived, the news was spreading through the crowd. my first time spent with gays, lesbiens, trans and more was a day of purest victory and joy. people were proposing left and right, so many tears and songs and dancing. i knew i had just entered into something more beautiful than any church revival

I was 19 and a baby queer that had just come out to my closest friends. It meant EVERYTHING to me. I remember dancing with my lesbian manager. So magical. Wish we could feel that joy again!

I‘m from Germany and at the time I was in 8th grade and we still didn’t have marriage equality in Germany. I remember cutting out newspaper clippings about this day and writing my news report for German class about obergefell v hodges. This decision wasn’t only momentous in the USA. I gave me hope for Germany.
