Hiking is fun and terrifying as a T1D. Its like mental gymnastics trying to eat beforehand, switch to activity mode at least an hour early and make sure no insulin is on board, and pack a backpack of snacks. Was hiking this weekend with my teen and I went low at the top of a 300ft bluff. "Mom you like hiking but your body doesn't. You better slam those juice boxes because I'm not dragging you back down a mountain"

I'm like whatever my doctor says type 1.5 and the other day I told my bf I was completely fine and didn't need to bring snacks or juice witn me because I always go low for some reason and guess who didn't listen and went low? WE CAN'T WIN 😂
