I think he’s categorizing it more by quality and access more so than “smell”. The beginner ones are not bad but they’re considered beginner because anyone can walk into any Macys or dillards and purchase them for under 200 dollars. The ones that were labeled collectors and veterans are more expensive and you would have to have a certain nose to love them. But not everyone is walking in knowing about niche or going into a store to say hey let me get the 450 bottle on initio. So I think when he say veteran I think he’s saying the consumer is a veteran at colognes and niche not the cologne in itself but I could be wrong.
