But again F.R.I.E.N.D.S was really spin-off Mad About You… Ursula (Phoebe’s twin was in that series…) also if I remember correctly even one of the OG casting from Mad About You was also made cameo appearance in Friends… that’s when they found out Phoebe is a twin…

I genuinely think if they had done a spin off of Monica and Chandler it would have been very successful. Couple guest appearances from the main cast every once in a while would make it feel like enough friends was in it but focusing on them becoming parents would have been great

The issue with Joey was it shattered the expectation that, even though we weren’t following them all anymore and it was clear they were all growing up, they were still close and in each others lives. Joey moving to LA kinda ruined that for people because that was the whole big deal about Rachel not going to Paris and staying in New York. It was poorly planned tbh.

It’s because they always try to do a spin off the comic relief character. It doesn’t work you need to have grounding character to a comic relief.
