as someone who lives on Cummins hwy that just had a horrible redesign.....no one wants this for blue hill ave. How about employ more parking attendants to stop folks from double parking.

I work in Mattapan & drive through the Square every day. The biggest problem is double parking. People double park even when open spaces are just a few feet away. Police need to start ticketing them. A solid center barrier instead of planters might help keep the pedestrians in the crosswalks where they can be seen by motorists.

biked through today and it was terrifying. double and triple parking during church hours restricts many stretches to a single lane, including parking on the median and shoulders, on top of bike lanes etc

removing traffic lanes won't necessarily increase drive times. not dealing with double parking and blocked bus stops increases drive times. some of the busiest bus routes go though blue hills and a dedicated center running bus lane removes those vehicles from the flow of private vehicular traffic which then doesn't have to stop and merge around bus stops
