I wld say “picking” a kid just because they look like you is weird too?? Theres a long process and you eventually come home with a child who you had the best connection with regardless of skin colour.

Personally as an adoptee, my parents are white and I am not but I think it’s fine. The only time I don’t see it fine is if the family ONLY wants to adopt a certain race. My family just didn’t discriminate

I don't think that's how adoption works. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure adoption is not based off of appearances. It's not like window shopping. You're not shopping for a child. You're giving a child a home. This sounds a little fucked up..

Interracial adoption is a very interesting topic. If the white parents actually care to make their adopted child feel integrated into the community it can be a great thing ofc. If they don’t do that tho it can lead to issues with identity, bullying, alienation etc.
