There’s a lot of nuance in how Black men express ourselves — so let me be clear: this doesn’t apply to every man. Some Black men use humor, but some don’t. Some don’t talk about their feelings at all. This isn’t a universal truth. But in my experience… A lot of us don’t say “I need help” — we joke about it. We don’t say “that hurt me” — we laugh through it. We don’t always express pain directly, but it still finds a way out. The other day I watched two Black men openly talk about grieving a friend moving to another state. They didn’t say “Damn, that hurt me,” and then cry about it. Instead they made jokes for 45 minutes about the situation. They expressed themselves through humor. It’s subtle. But it’s there. And if you’re only looking for expression in one specific form you’ll miss it entirely. #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #BlackTikTok #blacklivesmatter #Relationship
