this has been my take from the jump. she missed group schedules to hang out with her influencer friends… she wanted the exposure, the ad campaigns, the magazine covers, and the fame, but she didn’t want the intense lifestyle that comes with being a singer/performer. her friends are setting her up

I think this should have been extremely obvious the moment the girl was scouted for her beauty rather than her actual skills, like I’m sure she worked hard in the group and tried to keep up with the work culture the other girls had been immersed in since forever but you could so tell her heart was not in it and that is okey to admit. Doesn’t really matter how western katseye are in “concept” cause their whole identity as a group only works cause they’ve went through a kpop trainee program, otherwise katseye would not be interesting as a group, honestly.

That’s what I’ve been saying but people aren’t enough mature to get that without getting deffensive. I’m french and we don’t have working culture either (at all) so I get that working extra hard isn’t normal to her but it is for the rest of the group. They’ve been working their entire life for this, that’s their dream not just an opportunity they were offered and at the end of day I think that when you’re in a group project you either have to adapt to your teammate for the sake of it or choose to leave..

I think this hiatus has shown that she’s still famous with or without katseye, there’s no point to wreck her physical and mental health to be an idol when she’s famous enough as it is.

She obviously never wanted to be an artist and that’s very clear from the start in the documentary but I don’t think she hated it, I think she liked it but not enough to follow the sort of schedule they have. Which is fair, it’s not easy. She wants to be an influencer/be famous, and doing the show + group for a while was the fastest way to get there. It think it was clear in the documentary that she was pretty much guaranteed a spot in the group if she joined the show, she was given a lot more leniency than the other girls (not live in dorms with them but in a nice house with her aunt, miss practice, staying out later than the curfew). But we and the girls could see this coming, there’s a reason not a single girl wrote her name as someone they’d want to be in a group with, the other girls really want this and it’s not easy to have one person who’s just meh about it so I don’t blame them if it got to a point yk… and Manon has achieved some fame so she’s fine with not being in the group anymore.

I’ll never get this take. If we didn’t see the doc, no one would ever think this. When she’s on stage with them girls, she is not behind or anything. All the interviews up to this point Manon as said she loves her job and this is her dream. The girls have said she’s the one who pushed for rehearsal too much. I’d hate for someone to think my character is defined by how I was like 4 years ago💀
