Sorry for asking this on THIS video out of all of them lol but I really love your art, the textured brush you use is gorgeous !! what art program do you use? Ive been using ibis paint which notoriously doesn't have any good brushes xD

As someone who has hallucinations myself, yes, it DOES affect my art, it is a limiter to me, but it doesn't limit my actually artistic still. I have had to adapt my style around the things I can and can't handle, and my style is very sanitized because of it, but that is okay!

For some reason I thought this was asking if like..you'd hallucinate that what you were drawing was different than how it actually looked for some reasonv😭😭

Thank you I also hate that stereotype. I think part of the reason thats such a big thing in peoples minds is because art collectors often make it the focus to build interest in the art. Van gough who was famously depressive made some of his best work when he was doing well mentally. I think people just like to mystify things and simplify multiple different factors into one simple narrative so it makes a good story. I think framing it as inate gifts or talents rather then admiting art is a learnable skill makes the art seem less accessible to regular people and therefore more valuable. I think thats also why you see this trope more often with fine art and less so in commercial art

I'll give my two-cents and I typically do on ur schizophrenia videos. I'm bipolar schizoaffective and for me it does effect my art, but not the way ppl think. I'm likely to experience psychosis in manic episodes and paranoia comes with that. When this happens for me, I'm more likely to have hallucinations or delusions about intense or terrifying events--and sometimes I develop delusions that these things actually have happened to me before. How does this affect my art? I usually use art as a coping outlet for these things and as such when im in these episodes im more likely to draw "disturbing" content but only because I am projecting my distressing reality warped scenarios onto my characters. So far, it has helped a lot and I do recommend it as a potential outlet for those struggling to find one! Remember that everyone is different twins
