Last night I had a funny thought and immediately my baby laughed. This video helps me understand why that happened. I love my son so much!

I’m a PhD/LPC birth-to-five therapist and this is true! I can’t remember the study, but they did a study where they hooked up an EEG to mom and baby. When a specific part of mom’s brain was activated, baby’s brain was activated in the same area. If I come across it I’ll come back.

Not to mention so many moms are nutritionally depleted postpartum! Nutrients like vit d, minerals, omega 3s, blood sugar imbalance from stress and lack of sleep. I love supporting postpartum moms 💛

This is such important and amazing information. It reminds me of a book called “being there” that I read after getting pregnant for the first time.

Ugh I never had any psych issues before I had kids! I of course had plans to be the perfect mother! Had twins and in comes cptsd, anxiety, depression! Lexapro helped a lot, but I was always in fight or flight. Finally when my twins were 4 I went to residential treatment for 30 days, that saved my life, but even 7 years later I still feel like I live way too much in fight or flight!

My baby is six months, and I’ve had pretty bad pp anxiety since birth, even with meds and therapy. How can I help? Make sure I am still helping him form a good attachment style? I’ve said this to my therapist, that I worry I am ruining him because of my own anxiety. Thanks!

So you’re saying a balanced, happy, affection, and mentally & emotionally present mother is the best thing for a babies development? I’ve always believed this to my core but never had it validated.
