@visual.healthlab: Could restoring disc height help relieve pressure on your spinal nerves? If you’ve been told you may need an A.L.I.F. (Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion), this video explains how the procedure works, why it may be recommended for some patients, and why it isn’t the right option for everyone. Have you had an A.L.I.F. procedure or has your surgeon recommended one? Share your experience in the comments—your story may help someone facing the same decision today. #ALIFSurgery #SciaticaRelief #SpineSurgery #BackPainRelief #herniateddisc

I had an ALIF, and PLIF at the same time. They did l4-s1. It was painful, but helpful. Then 4 years later I had LLIF of l3-l4 . The LLIF was the least painful 😓

2021 ALIF L5S1. 4 months of restrictions and pt before the doc cut me loose and have absolutely no sciatica or lower back pain. From what I've read and heard from others it looks like I'm in the lucky percentile.

I had to have this because I had 2 microdiscectomy one on each side of the spine but 6 weeks after my 2nd surgery I was feeling great and left the hospital and was in a motor vehicle accident a person ran a standing red light and messed my back up and my sciatic nerve will never heal in my life time my lower back has arthritis and my restrictions from the ALIF surgery but the sciatic nerve is my worst nightmare

Had L5S1 ALIF in 2019. When they started to close, a vein snapped and a vascular surgeon had to open me up another 12 inches to stop the bleeding. I was told it was a 1 in 10000 complication. I'm glad a vascular surgeon was part of my surgery. Other than that, the surgery worked to reduce my pain almost 100 percent.
