Alterations are harder sometimes than making the actual dress. It’s an art and it shouldn’t be cheap. Their time and know how is valuable.

Be aware it’s so hot in Italy so take breathable cottons or linens. Flowy pants or skirts are best or a nice cotton or linen dress

Honestly a complicated gown hem is technically difficult to do. If you don’t do that type of sewing I know it’s hard to understand. It takes skill and at the end of the day we all deserve to be paid for our work and expertise. ❤️

My daughter got a free wedding dress through Brides of America and the alterations were $875!!! So much for a free dress I know but still it was cheaper than buying the dress that originally cost $3K. In your case the alterations were probably more than the cost of the dress😬😭Your local seamstress thanks you for keeping her in business though! 😊

I almost went there to get some pants altered but I ended up at Durbin Cleaners and Alterations. They altered a uniform dress for me and it was $32 and they did a great job! I would try them next time.
