I would set up plenty of traps, maybe even try to have certain people take shifts during the times you know the raccoons are coming and start taking them down one by one. I know Missouri consider raccoons a rabies vector species so maybe look into an affordable extermination of them or look into devices that’ll deter them away from the barn. My aunt and uncle used lock the doors with an actual lock and key and then make sure you seal off any and every hole. They also had electric fences that kept them out of paddocks for the most part and they also had motion sensor lights that would scare them off. The only other thing I could suggest that may help is plant mint around the barn they hate the smell and sprinkle hot pepper or cayenne pepper all over the ground it deters them.

So we used to have a family of raccoons trying to get my chickens and ducks. Somehow my dog escaped and got outside and I’m chasing after him (6 months pregnant, and in my memaw nighty) with the first thing I grabbed (a flipping broom 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️) so I’m smacking the crap out of these raccoons to save my dog and my husbands screaming at me that I’m pregnant and to get back inside and I’m bawling and screaming back “they ain’t getting my dog!” My husband comes stomping up, kicks a coin off my dog, snatches him (dog) up and shoves him at me, pushing us back and slings a boomboom stick and shoots a coin. They scatter. My husband hung the raccoon on the chicken coop for a week and then took it down and disposed. We never had another raccoon on the property. He had to do that again on another property and again, we never got another on the property.

From a wild life sub put dog food somewhere far away it’s baby season there getting food so they can feed there babies

I don’t know your state regulations but tractor supply has traps and you can call your local DNR we had a raccoon problem that killed all of our ducks and their babies and they sent a game warden out not sure what happened after that

Not with chickens but just in general with our trash. We have a raccoon the same size as our English bulldog (no joke or exaggeration) that digs in our trash cans. It even came into our screened in area for like 2 weeks straight looking for food

get a box trap get some wet cat food in it and then relocate them somewhere far, far away because they aren't going to stop!

Raccoons can also open latches babe (I didn’t know that) and they suck! one of the worst predators to get gone I swear🙄 I had to let my dogs out with my around the pens to get them to finally stop

aw the momma with the lost babies. it makes me so sad my rabbits do the same when one or two of their babies dont make it. they notice. and its so sad.

Set a live trap! We’ve had this problem they love wet cat food! We have outside cats and we had to shut them in the garage for the night we set the trap.
