This is why Lois never actually knew him lol bcuz Lex and Clark were a lot alike. They just were raised differently, one with loving family one with evil father. Lex chose a dark path and Clark chose the opposite, different side same coin. Even Lana called this out in season 7.

I never cared for their relationship until I got to the episode where he encounters lex his good side which was Alexander . The way Clark cared for him , it really shows how much of a weakness he still had for lex after everything . I actually cried a bit when he told lex to hold onto him . At the end he obviously tears up a bit when he says goodbye to the only part of lex he still recognises as his friend. It broke me 😭😭

Somtimes I wonder what if he would have trusted Lex with his secret. I do believe when Lex says he would have protected him. Seeing the fact that Lex and Clark are meant to be rivals hurts me more than seeing Jonathan die to be honest because when Lex came back from the dead he told him that it was destiny and that a villain can only be as great as the hero so he knew he was going to be great because Clark was great even with all the hate they have towards eachother they still praise and show eachother love after all that Lex said all Clark could say was “I’m sorry I couldn’t save u” and that surprise Lex too I wish they could’ve stayed friends forever but js how it’s always Lois it will always be Lex
