Dill is one of the hardest-working plants in the garden because it helps support ladybugs and other beneficial insects. 🌿 Ladybugs don't eat dill. They hunt the aphids that gather there, and their larvae are absolute pest-control machines. 🐛 One ladybug larva can eat around 400 aphids before becoming an adult. 🐞 Adult ladybugs can eat up to 50 aphids a day. If you've never seen a ladybug larva before, don't squash it. They look like tiny alligators, but they're one of your garden's best allies. Plant dill in full sun, direct sow the seeds, and let a few plants flower to attract even more beneficial insects and pollinators.
