The way I see it, socialist policies are far from perfect, but we have about 250 years of the capitalism experiment, it’s made the poor poorer and the rich richer. Maybe time to try something different.

Also: if you don't want the people to take an interest in socialism, maybe don't default to "that's socialism" every time you want an excuse for not doing something that benefits the average person while slightly raising taxes on the rich.

People can't even afford to buy tiny starter homes anymore. Just a few decades ago, you could do it on a grocer's salary and have a stay-at-home spouse. Our system is failing us.
