you can own your home once it’s paid off but never the property because you will have to still pay property taxes. You can get around this by having horses, cows, certain types of plants and trees, then you can claim agricultural tax exempt but would need acreage to do so.

The banks do not get the equity. They only get the loan amount. The equity belongs to the home owner and they have three years to find out. After 3yrs, the state gets the money.

Thank GOD my grandmother taught me this system. Bought my house in cash in full in ‘09. Everyone told me I was stupid. I literally have no stress. I don’t use credit. Never had the need to use a credit score for anything. If I do t have the money…I save until I get it. Half the time by the time I save…I don’t even want it anymore. With this economy…I really lucked up by living this way beforehand. 🥰

What these landlords don’t understand and do is purchase rent insurance in case of tenants not being able to pay rent. If you have that insurance it hedges you against economic collapse. Homeowners can purchase this insurance too, in case of loss of income or an untimely death.
