It would be better but Alicent and Rhaenyra visiting each other as a plot device was horrible and devoid of logic. Alicent as a character doesn’t make any sense

Season 2 has too many bad writing decisions for one battle to fix. Action does not equal good storytelling. Daemon’s arc was dragged out, Alicent’s choices made no sense, Aemond’s character was weakened, Jace’s motivations were changed, and Nettles’ storyline was removed. People say not to compare it to the books, but that is impossible because the show is an adaptation. It uses the same characters, events, and source material, so judging how well it adapts them is completely fair.

Yes! Season two felt like an incomplete sentence. If the ended it on this episode, I would have had a wayyyyyy different perspective. Especially because I read the book and love the story

Personally I loved season 2, including the finale. I thought it was beautifully done. And I loved this as the first episode of season 3. So hype.
