@f.ugue: Repost! I love this theory too much for it to flop. I made this at midnight and I really feel like it connects so many dots. Of course it isn't perfect, but I personally like it because all you need to do is play the game to understand, no need for deep dives in the game code or anything like that. Here are my rebuttals to the rebuttals: Kris was too young too make a darkworld in the past! Okay true, we know the dark world in the past cost Asgore his job and family, it is also widely considered to be a tragedy and what many believe to be the cause of Dess' disapperance. So let me tell you that Dess is the one who made that tragic dark world and why I think it. Chapter 3's sword route shows us playing a video game, eventually we reach a spot where we find a shelter key. This shelter key is located in pitch black... somewhere darker than dark. Once we pick it up, we get "used up" and then the game crashes. So what if Dess created a dark world, got used up somehow, then trapped in the game's code. How does the knight kidnap people? We already know Kris is allies with Carol, while the cage/the knight drags them out of the dark world, they could be passed to Carol relay style. Undyne and Asgore are strong tough monsters who wouldn't go down without a fight, yet theres no visual lightworld struggle. Why would they not struggle if it were a complete stranger like the vessel or dess. They don't struggle because they know the person, they know their mayor, and they trust she keeps them safe in the shelter.. Yes its a bad explanation but its all i got. If this is true, where is the knight in Chapters 1, 2, and especially Castle Town? Well both chapter 1 and 2 take place in towns/cities that most likely have places we haven't explored yet. The caged knight really could just be anywhere in there. As for Castle Town, there just so happens to be a giant door to the right that we can never open again. Thats all i got, of course more discussion can happen in the comments, and if this blows up enough maybe I will make a youtube video on it with better visuals and something more in depth #deltarune #deltarunechapter5 #theroaringknight #theory #krisdeltarune

Now when I think about it, we never saw Kris remove their soul in the dark world 🤔

Why would Toby fox consistently make flavor text in closets near dark worlds saying “a large person could fit inside” then? Carol isn’t that much taller than Kris so there would be no point in specifying a “large person”.

Doubt it for a few reasons. Knight actually GOES into the light world. Kris literally SEES the knight with their own eyes while the soul is in them at the end of chapter 3. Kris doesn’t go to the church in ch4, they go to the kitchen. Whoever’s talking to kris on the phone is HEAVILY implied to be the knight. Also kris does stuff on their own in the dark world while the soul is still in them. It just wouldn’t make sense.

It’s a really cool theory, but we still see Kris act of their own accord within the Dark Worlds, which we wouldn’t see if it were just the soul. (For example, Kris muffling their words if you try to get them to say something mean to Ralsei in Ch 4)

Kris and the Knight are clearly diffrent entities, since the Knight dragged Undyne and Asgore to the shelter through the Light World.

The Roaring Knight leaves the Dark World in Chapter 3 and the Dark Shard (a piece of the Knight’s sword) doesn’t transform in the Light World, meaning it’s a real thing. The Roaring Knight is a Lightner, sorry.

What if papyrus is the forgotten man with the eggs because in his undertale counterpart he claims to be forgettable and has an egg with him and we now know that undertale takes place AFTER deltarune

Theres that interesting dialogue between Flowery and Ralsei that hints at the fact that Ralsei and Flowery know that Kris made the fountain

How does Kris seal Dark fountains though ? Or the soul lighting up when you're getting up to the roaring knight

i have some questions:
1) how are we able to play right the piano without kris's skills? because the soul is shit at doing it
2) why would kris need to get back the soul in ch5 before entering the shop?
3) if our body is completely different than kris in dark world then how is he able to instantly get back it after sealing it?
4) who brought Undyne in the shelter at the end of ch3 if kris was with susie? and this time was in the light world

My only question is how would knight Kris and us Kris exit the dark world at the same time? So if the knight takes undyne away, and we follow right after, shouldn’t we come out as the soul rather than as Kris?

Sorry I don’t speak English very well but let me say something important.

the difference is Kris is a lightner while the soul is something else entirely so this doesn't work

interesting but in the end of chapter 3 we saw Susie and Kriss follow the Knight in the light world, obv we didn't saw Who was draghing Undyne but can be only the Knight, then sometimes happen that in the dark world Kriss take his own choice, like when we try to say something that he don't want to say and he finds some way to nor Say It or when during the secret game in chapter 3 we try to stop us from going into the shelter... this let me think that the true Kriss Is Always with us in te Dark world...

Dark worlds existed in the past but they were probably made by accident because Ralsei said that the knight appeared when the heroes did

Mr. (Ant) Tenna :
Ralsei can feel the Knights presence tho right? So in Castle Town or chapter 1/2 he would have to feel that the Knight is somewhere in the dark world, even if they're hiding
