@vlorapix: I genuinely want more people to experience what real homemade yogurt tastes like. Not because it’s trendy, but because once you make yogurt yourself, it’s hard to go back. You’ll save money, you’ll know exactly what’s in it, and you’ll end up with a thick, creamy yogurt made with just 2 ingredients. If you’re a beginner, please use a thermometer. It takes the guesswork out of the process. Yogurt is all about temperature, and getting it right is what separates silky, creamy yogurt from a grainy or slimy batch. I also recommend using a real L. reuteri yogurt starter culture instead of store-bought yogurt. In my experience, it’s much more consistent and gives reliable results batch after batch. ✨ My Homemade Yogurt Recipe • 1 gallon whole milk • 2 sachets L. reuteri yogurt starter culture 1. Heat the milk to 180°F (82°C) and hold it there for about 30 minutes. 2. Let it cool to 110°F (43°C). 3. Whisk the starter culture with a little warm milk until smooth, then stir it into the pot. 4. Incubate for 12 hours, bundled up in blankets to keep it warm. 5. Refrigerate for another 12 hours. 6. If you prefer extra-thick Greek yogurt, strain it for 12 hours. For labneh, strain it for 24 hours. That’s it. Two ingredients, a little patience, and you’ll have homemade yogurt that’s hard to beat. If you make it, I’d love to hear how your first batch turns out. 🫶 #homemadeyogurt #yogurtrecipe #lowcarb #greekyogurt #labneh

Yes! I make it in the instant pot using the yogurt setting, and use a single serving of plain Greek yogurt (Nancy’s or Fage) as my starter. Then I use the last bit for the next batch in perpetuity. Add a little vanilla before the cool-down and it is chefs kiss. 💋
