My dad used to call me Ethel whenever I would run through the house in a towel or just my tshirt or whatever as a kid. I have always known of Ray Stevens and his songs just never paid attention. I was 34 sitting with my dad while he was having a chemo treatment and he was listening to a Ray Steven’s tape and it finally clicked! I asked if that was why he called me Ethel!? I don’t think I had ever seen him laugh so hard!!
