Neither. As a physician who dealt with these on a regular basis, I can tell you avoid both of them at all cost. If you have impingement or spinal stenosis, seek out someone who does minimally invasive decompressive surgery. You’ll be glad you did. this stuff is archaic.

I had a 3 disk replacement in Germany by dr rodolf Bentonoli best decision I have ever made. Changed my life and have my life back. Golf 5 days a week now with zero pain. Recovery was 1.5 months. Than was golfing again.

I had spinal surgery in the late 70s for scoliosis. Several years later the damage to the nerves caused major disability. I was diagnosed with chronic pain syndrome due to the surgery, unable to stand, sit or lay down without pain. Before considering either options ask your doctor about long term damage. This is when your health is at its highest risk after age 50.

Surgery 4-29-2026 Procedure: L4/5 TLIF and L4-5 PSF with posterior spinal fusion I’m 9 weeks post-op and grateful to say I haven’t experienced any pain since day one after surgery as of yet. Around week 4, I had a nerve flare-up that caused a burning sensation on my right side, radiating down my leg. My doctor prescribed a 6-day Medrol pack to help with the inflammation. He has also extended my recovery for another 6 weeks, and hopefully after that I’ll be cleared to begin physical therapy. Taking it one day at a time and thankful for the progress I’ve made so far.

I think Artificial disc replacement is better because it much closer to the original disc part than to just infused two bones 🦴 together because you will be eliminating the original movement of the spine

Just how many insurance companies will authorize disc replacement and not say it is still experimental and not enough evidence of long term success.?
