I keep saying, give the girl some grace! she's a first time show director and writter. for a first try this is amazing. people keep comparing her to Rebecca sugar with her 5 seasons, multiple creative teams, official training and years of director writter work doing episodes of other shows. and even THAT wasn't perfect and people complained about it for years. give her some time to breath and if you want different content, that's cool, that's why we make fan fiction

“Support indie animation” until the animation isn’t EXACTLY how you wanted it to be. This fandom alone has scared many young creatives from starting or finishing projects they wanted to put out into the world, but they won’t bc they’re afraid of having to deal with what Gooseworx had to deal with. I love the show, how it ended, I am content not having every plot thread neatly tied up, or having the themes of the series spelled out for me. I hope the haters can reflect and chill tf out

I understand her being the only writer and all, but she had no problem putting all her time and stamina into Jax only…, so she definitely could have fleshed out the other characters too. Or had taken inspiration from fans? I don’t get why she didn’t receive any help either considering all the money her show was making

I’m a bit more forgiving when it comes to being the only writer. Like yes people on ao3 have created deeper narratives potentially in a fraction of the time but we also have to consider the line where creativity meets the business world. Executives and managers don’t care about storytelling and narrative development, they want things done and out so they can make money.

Idk if I’m… the only one? But since I’m an aspiring author and since I’ve been starting to plan out my first novel… ALL my characters have their own stories inside the main story, whether or not they’re the protagonist.. because… that’s how life works. The funny thing is: I’ve been planning my setting, pace, character designs, story, art, EVERYTHING… inside my head. I used to write it, but I got tired of it, so I just recurred to keeping it in my head. And I improve the story and character development every day? My story ALSO has a self insert… but the self insert is not close to being a main character, and it has as much story and development as other characters that aren’t even relevant to the novel.
