Over a carabiner? That's not even a part of a plane. Wouldn't this be a civil matter? Petty theft of private property. Maybe not, but this got blown way out of proportion. We are talking about a $10 item at most. But before the guy even came in to make things worse, the cop was already talking about him like he had some personal score to settle. Normally for simple misunderstanding they use discretion, and might have him apologize. But even if he purposely took it, he might have thought it was abandoned property, who knows. But from the beginning of the video the cop was disrespectful and throwing his "authority" around. Even taking time to stroke his own ego while speaking to pilot and flight crew.
