It did take them into account. The offside rule requires the attacking player to be behind the ball and the second to last defender. Typically that's the goalkeeper, but because of this play the player you noticed acted as the first defender and the one that was highlighted in the replay was the second to last.

Ya a lot of casual watchers are confused by this. I see other comments have clarified. 2 players on the opposing team need to be between or level with the offensive player when the ball is kicked.

The AI ignores him as he is clearly between the goal line & offensive player, but there needs to be 2 defensive players so is checking the non-obvious one - it was the correct decision.

That’s not how it works he was offsides in the beginning just because the opponent finally passed him he is still clarified as offsides and can’t touch the ball if someone else scored from his team it be fine but he can’t touch the ball at all
