(spoiler) I remember googling that ending phrase and seeing a folklore story about how a mongoose saved the family from the snake but ended up being blamed in turn for its damages. I don’t know if it was intentional but the alignment with future events (not even getting into other implications like mongoose venom tolerance and stuff) just showed again how well made this series is. It’s a small detail that might’ve not been intentional, but I haven’t seen anyone point out the folklore/story potential link directly and every time I hear the line I start sideyeing lol
