As someone who worked at Amazon when the orange earphones became available, I can tell you from personal experience that you can’t hear shit when you have them in even with no music on. If someone came up to me or even making an announcement over the loudspeaker, I had to take the earbud out to hear what was said. It was better if I just use my own and only put one earbud in it was even worse when he came out with the earphones to cover your ears like you worked at the airport.
