I’m not avoiding dating. I’m not “not ready.” And I’m definitely not waiting on anything. I could date. I’ve been able to for the last two years. People ask me all the time why I don’t go on dating apps. Why I say no to dates. Why I’m “so selective.” Honestly? Because most of the asks don’t align with how I move through life. Dinner dates? Getting dressed up to sit still, make small talk, and sell myself across a table? That sounds like my personal version of hell. If you know me, you know I don’t just sit. I learn who someone is by doing things with them. Anyone can sound impressive while talking. You learn the truth about people when you’re moving, navigating, interacting with the world together. Ask me to go do something. Be creative. Be present. Be alive. I’ve also never believed my person is sitting on an app looking for me. I picture him living his life, just like I’m living mine and meeting me in the middle of something real. To each their own. Truly. This isn’t judgment. It’s just clarity. I’m not scanning rooms. I’m not hunting. I’m usually in my own little bubble, doing what lights me up. So yeah, if you catch my attention, you probably earned it. And if you don’t? That’s okay too. I’m not searching. I’m living. 💙
