Tiger Woods has arrived at this year's U.S. Open venue, Pinehurst. And I have to say he is swinging the golf club great. Can't wait to watch him. Here are some things that I've highlighted and that you could potentially learn from his golf swing. 1️⃣ In photo one we can see a perfectly balanced athletic posture. If we drop a line straight down from the back of his armpit it would go over the front of his knee and into the ball of his foot. This is a perfectly balanced posture with great angles. 2️⃣ In photo two we can see a picture-perfect takeaway. The leading edge of his golf club matching his spine angle when the shaft reaches its first parallel in the backswing. This is such an important part of the golf swing as it sets the mood for the rest of the golf swing. 3️⃣ In photo three as he arrives to the top of his backswing we can see now the club face matching his forearm. This is a beautifully square club face with a flat lead wrist. The flat lead wrist is a good indicator his grip is perfectly neutral. Another thing that we notice is he maintains the flex in his right leg. There's a lot of talk at the minute in golf instruction about straightening that right leg but when we look at the best in the world that's not what they do. I understand if you need more range of motion then let the leg straighten slightly but never straight. 4️⃣ In photo four as he reaches the halfway down position we can notice the shaft pointing perfectly at the golf ball. This is a beautifully on plane downswing. 5️⃣ And number five impact position albeit very slightly after just depended on the shutter speed of the camera. We can notice his right foot rolling inwards onto its instep. Hips open to the target a considerable amount and the shoulders square. This is such a great impact position.
