I was your whole universe and I’ll always hate the world for taking you from me when I needed you the most. I hate that no amount of money or surgery would’ve saved you. I would’ve taken years off my life to give you more. My bubby, my everything. From our first 800 sqft apartment where we grew our family to 2 dogs and 2 cats, to your first house with a backyard, countless trips, endless treats, those are the moments I will carry with me forever. My soulmate, my fur baby, my companion through every chapter. One thing I can laugh at is how expensive you were, between the pet store, chewing all my Giuseppe zanotti sandals, baseboards, gourmet food, and countless pieces of furniture you claimed as your own through eating on them, peeing, or throwing up. I don’t regret a single dollar of it. If I had known it would come down to this, I never would have been mad at you for any of it. To everyone who has been part of Mikey’s life, thank you. Thank you for every belly rub, every treat slipped under the table, every adventure, every game of fetch, every swim, car ride, and moment of affection you shared with him. Mikey never met a stranger, he loved everyone wholeheartedly and made friends with everyone. Each of you helped make his life richer and happier than I could have ever done alone. He was so deeply loved, and he loved each and every one of you more than you know. The biggest thank you goes to Mikey’s surgical team for saving his life and taking the best care of him with the best attitude. There will never be another Mikey. The greatest privilege of my life was being your mom. I will endure a lifetime of missing you for the privilege of loving you. The love we shared never ended when you left, I’ll forever carry it with me now. I can’t wait to see you again, until then you’ll be in my heart.🤍🖤💙

We endured the exact same experience with our beautiful Merlin, so I feel your loss and share our heartfelt condolences for you. They are never just a pet, they are our family. And although this chapter may be over, the story doesn't end.
