very pretty but missing alot of essentials and not a great aquarium shape for a Betta. Bettas prefer longer tanks with less height.

PSA: your betta thrives in a heavily planted, horizontal tank with a sponge filter & plenty of places to relax if they get tired of swimming.

People are confusing ideal with base requirements here. Not every tank needs a filter and a heater (the latter only if you live in warm tropical climates, though). This betta is relatively short-finned and does not require a horizontal tank. There is plenty of real estate to rest on near the surface. And the tank is of appropriate volume. Proper care of this fish would come down to the owner doing water changes. Regardless of all that, this guy runs an aquascaping business and is just showcasing his tank.
