Also the sun shines longer because days are longer in the uk in comparison to those closer to equator, therefore there is way more time for heat to accumulate and less night time to cool off (the ground, the water and the buildings for example)

anyway. the reason I (as northern Italian) I am bothered is that on may 15 I went to work with 4° Celsius (and in that period it should have been around 15/17) and 15 days later it was 30° (and it should have been be around 22/23). and then in the last couple of weeks we're constantly around 30° (6 degrees more than average). basically the full summer temperature. so when the heatwave will end, we'll just roll in the full summer. And it's not even a problem with struggling, because I am lucky. I have a house that's built for "average temperatures" and I do have ac. It's the pattern that I see that is concerning.

So true and then it’ll be 12 again soon 🥺. It’s not fun… I have low blood pressure and POTS the last week has been madness for me 😅 and people just don’t get it… defo a fresh air to their mouth hun xx

Houses, buses, underground, everything here is built to keep the heat inside. Once the houses become hot, they don,t cool down. Buildings are not made For aircon. It’s hard to get permission. If you do t know, don’t open your mouth to let fresh air in. Even the windows don’t open effectively.

It felt like getting off the plane in July in Croatia after a 2h flight from the UK. Your brain and body have no idea how to cope and are not ready. My worst nightmare are these windows here that can’t be open widely so at least during the evening we can make a draft and exchange the air properly before closing it in the morning

My sons dad is ginger so heat is worse for him but he is fine in Thailand because of the ac, he really struggles in the uk when the heat and humidity is bad. The humidity here in my area this wk has been 90% I’m in the northwest where it is rare we get over 30 plus degrees

This annoys me so much I'm Australian living in the UK. The heat here in UK is horrific like you said the houses are like pizza ovens and no Aircon. Especially the elderly!!
