I’m a ginga and I have always thought that it doesn’t matter how beautiful a white woman is, she could never surpass the beauty of a black woman. When I was 4 my favourite playmate was a boy down the street and I thought he was so beautiful and told my mom that I wanted to look like him. She told me that she dreamed about having a redheaded girl. I was furious and thought it was her fault that I had freckles, white skin and a red fro. I have always wanted to be black and would fantasize that I could put something in the bath and come out black. As a redhead I was always teased and treated badly by white people and not once did that ever happen with black people. In fact I have always felt more comfortable, cared for and can laugh with black people, not have them laugh at me. I am saying something negative about a lot of white people, I could be called a racist, however it is my truth based on my experience.
