Italy is not home anymore for me. Not in the sense I mean it. Home doesn’t exist anymore. It was home when I was born and lived there. It was still home when my parents were alive. Now things are different. The need to go visit is nowhere near as strong.

My wife’s Auntie Ada is Italian. She moved from Italy to Wales decades ago, married a Welsh man and lived there ever since. She speaks with a strong Italian/Welsh accent with some Welsh language thrown in for good measure. She speaks so quickly that you have to watch while she talks or you won’t catch half of what she says. 😂

I was born in the UK, my Dad is Italian (born in Italy) my Mum is English (born in UK) but although I was born in the work I still say I’m half Italian and half English.. I have been told by ignorant people I am not Italian because I was born on the UK 🙄 We are from the South 😁 🇮🇹 ❤️
