@jacksonmeasd: Food struggles and autism go hand in hand and unless you've lived it, you truly don't understand how hard it is. Everywhere we turn, we're told "No gluten. No sugar. No soy. No dairy. No carbs." The list goes on. it's hard to get autistic kids to try new foods. Sensory issues, texture aversions, rigidity, and anxiety around meals are very real.Jackson's food journey hasn't been easy. Between ages 3-7, we were in constant talks about placing a G-tube just to keep him nourished. We never gave up, we kept offering, exposing, and celebrating even the tiniest bite of something new. Now, 8 years later, he eats a small list of foods. None of them are green. Some are healthy. Some are not. And that's okay. We're doing our best. So please, stop judging parents for something you know nothing about. This journey is about survival, not perfection. #autism #autismmomlife #safefood #autismsupport #autismeducation
