I think a lot of ambitious people also assume other people are ambitious, therefore they see the great potential of every person around them - therefore the things they do aren’t out of ego but it’s done in order to survive in this “projected” society that they have mentally where everyone has achieved their goals

I am an un-ambitious person, and I admit there was a time I thought ambitious people thought themselves better than anyone else. Then I thought "poor things, living under all that pressure." Now I don't think much of them. We are just different type of fishes in this huge pond

My issue, as an ambitious person, is that most people only consider ambition as it applies to academics or your career. My goal to get back into horse riding and being competitive in showing is treated like oh yeah, mmmhmmmm okaaayyyyy, sure.

Exactly. i was working toward the life i had planned for myself. it just wasn’t the same path as his. i was judged as if i wasn’t trying hard enough, simply bc my ambitions looked different. He wanted someone who was constantly competing, constantly chasing the next thing, always staying busy. That’s just not the kind of life i want

I’m doing a masters in an unrelated field to mine and I have gotten quite a bit of pushback and negativity from family members and even work acquaintances …I already have a PhD in a different field like what’s the issue here…
