Last time I checked, the LEO’s don’t tell us (TSA) what to do at our checkpoint. Just like we don’t tell them how to do their job. There are so many cameras at the checkpoint, if someone did happen to take it, we could easily find them.

I mean he not wrong. If it some thing valuable why would you set it where ANYONE can take it. It doesn’t matter if it could’ve been taken on the belt, it’s common sense with Lost&Found items…if this is their policy then they need to change it cause it don’t make sense

tsa does not have more authority lol literally unarmed security guards 😂 don't forget they literally have police assigned to airports and they have full authority to arrest people carry guns investigate crimes etc... anywhere on airport property tsa does not

there are procedures for left behind properties!! it is held in case they come back , if some time passes and they dont return , it goes to LOST AND FOUND !! SMFH !

I mean they have a lost and found stationed in offices or by the supervisors desk. Cameras will find out where it went and who took it if they did. Cameras at checkpoints are really good but the people involved in the potential stealing sometimes aren’t immediately called out. Most airport police if they are posted at the airport have access to the security camera footage and can track throughout the entire airport with the exception of the bathrooms. If they don't know how to work the system certain tsa officers have been trained to do so and can assist in the locating of person moving throughout the airport including where left behind property was discovered and where it was taken.
