Had rescuers not found her when they did, she likely would have been lost forever. Trapped in a sewage pipe with a painful prolapse and growing weaker by the day, Lia was fighting a battle she could not win alone. One of the biggest changes is that her gums are starting to turn pink again, which indicates that the medications treating her blood parasite are working. Lia still has a journey ahead of her, but they’re feeling hopeful. The veterinary team will be visiting her this Thursday to reassess her condition and determine whether she is ready for the surgery needed to repair her prolapse. Lia has fought to stay alive for far too long on her own. Now, she finally has people fighting alongside her.
