I knew at 13 I didn’t want kids. I got mad bc I couldn’t swim w a pad on and my mom screamed at me “don’t YOU WANT TO HAVE KIDS SOMEDAY” and I screamed back “NO” and meant it. 35, and still childless 🥰

I have a bestie since HS, she never wanted to have kids, now at 40 something, she's a fur mama. I'm proud of her. She's also a supportive friend to her mommy friends like me. What's important is we make conscious decisions for ourselves and disallow others to decide for us. Especially, motherhood as it can be a great blessing or curse re regretful parents.

I am a high school teacher and I have had young girls express similar things to me. (I think because, if they ask me, I am honest with them that I don’t want kids and that teaching them is enough for me!) This is not too young to think about it! I don’t want to influence any of my students, so I always tell them to make sure their choice is THEIR OWN and no one else’s 💖
