When I was younger for years I had thoughts if I wanted children, a part of me wanted them, another questioned if I was going to be good enough, or if it was going to be as rewarding as we wish can be. I had a successful career worked very hard in my early and mid 20’s got 8 job promotions in 8 years, purchase my first home, now getting my second, traveled, married my best friend the most supporting person, and we have poured in each other to be better for our family. Then the time came: money and career wasn’t as thrilling anymore, the time felt right we chose to have kids and I’ve became the best version of myself, it indeed has been the biggest blessing and dang I became the best mom I can be. It has healed me deeply because I care so much about them it has given me purpose to heal wounds and prevent hurting them. So each decision it’s alright and years from now it can feel different. 🤍 20 year old me would felt different but almost 30 year old me feels perfect.

My daughter told me at 12 that she wouldn't be a good mom and never wants kids. She's almost 19 now and her resolve has only grown stronger. I'm so freaking PROUD of her.

I knew at 13 I didn’t want kids. I got mad bc I couldn’t swim w a pad on and my mom screamed at me “don’t YOU WANT TO HAVE KIDS SOMEDAY” and I screamed back “NO” and meant it. 35, and still childless 🥰

I am a high school teacher and I have had young girls express similar things to me. (I think because, if they ask me, I am honest with them that I don’t want kids and that teaching them is enough for me!) This is not too young to think about it! I don’t want to influence any of my students, so I always tell them to make sure their choice is THEIR OWN and no one else’s 💖

I knew at her age that I wanted to be a mom. She can totally know at her age that she doesn’t! I hope she listens to her own instincts and inner voice and never lets others gaslight her into thinking she’s wrong for her feelings!!!

this made me think about how I sometimes desperately want to want kids and I'm always hoping one day I will change my mind as I get older. however I dont want to change my mind bc I secretly want kids but bc I want to make my mom happy in giving her grandkids. I think having kids to please her would be way more selfish then not having kids to please me or at least thats what I tell myself.

I knew I was 100% sure about wanting kids when I found out about my fertility issues, was devastated, and immediately knew I would go through whatever I could within my means and morals to have them. I hope every woman always has that CHOICE.
